Right Sizing Near-Everything-You-Need Convenience

For Susan Burns and Jeff Rasmussen, the best part of owning a Blue Vista wee-Cottage might be the elbow room in their budget. “We are grateful to have found this big-enough house that we already know is going to provide us the freedom to focus on what’s most important,” Susan said. “The affordable mortgage gives us room in our budget to travel, and we appreciate that the homes are well-built, energy-efficient and beautifully designed.”
Susan and Jeff love “the open floorplan, the natural light, the back porch and the glimpse of the mountains out of our front window,” she said. Their Cottage Three plan is easy on the knees, with the master suite only a few steps from the laundry room and two-car garage.
Jeff, an attorney, and Susan, a therapist with Boulder Community Health, moved to Colorado several years ago, but it wasn’t until they found Blue Vista that they felt truly settled. “The wee-Cottages at Blue Vista present a new way to think about what you need in a home,” explained sales manager Micah Davidson. Jeff and Susan agree and are eager not only to travel, but also to get back into tennis (Blue Vista is across from city courts). “We both love Colorado for the natural beauty, the kindness of the people here and the never-ending hiking possibilities,” Susan said. “I love that bike trails are just outside our doors.”
Jeff and Susan also appreciate the near-everything-you-need location. Susan noted the “impressive range of live music experiences that are always available” and said she likes being fewer than five minutes from Club Pilates, Lucky’s and Starbucks. On the day they moved in, they celebrated with lunch at Jeff’s Tacos, just a short walk from their home. She said, “We like the feel of the neighborhood… and the fact that Blue Vista is in Longmont – our idea of a near-perfect town.”
For those needing a bit more room, the Cottage Five floorplan offers an optional third bedroom, loft and expansive pantry. Most wee-Cottages feature back patios and sprawling front porches, and since the cottage garages back to alleys, “the many front porches facing out give the neighborhood a friendly, welcoming feel,” Davidson said.
Susan concluded, “Our experience with Boulder Creek/Blue Vista has been completely positive from start to finish. We’re very happy with the lovely people that have made this process so stress-free, transparent and enjoyable.”
