easyHouse®At Sonders, Boulder Creek Homes Offer Flexibility and Ease
Article by Sara Huber, At Home Colorado Jan and George Reinert are people who trust the process, especially when it comes to house hunting. “If things are meant to be, they fall smoothly in place,” she said. More than a decade ago, that sentiment led them to take an RV adventure through Colorado, searching for a new home post-retirement. At the time, they lived in Michigan and had cared for aging parents for many years. “George always said he wanted to live in Colorado, so when the opportunity arose, we knew what we wanted to do,” Jan said. George added, “I am a skier, and we’re outdoors people, so Colorado was a good draw.” After visiting several towns and cities, they landed in Longmont in a home by the lifestyle builder Boulder Creek Neighborhoods. “Everything fell into place,” she said. Fast forward about 12 years, and Jan and George were again house hunting. This time, to suit their season of life, they sought a home with main-floor living, ideally near Fort Collins’ cultural scene. In the midst of their search, the Reinerts received an email about Sonders, Boulder Creek Neighborhoods’ new enclave in Fort Collins. George recalled thinking, “We know these people, and we know they stand behind their work. We have to at least go look.” Their visit lasted for hours. “The model was still 2-by-4s, and they had just put the roof on, but we could imagine ourselves there,” Jan said. She liked how the larger community of Sonders encircled the Boulder Creek ranch-style homes, creating a safe and welcoming vibe. “It was like a mind meld of what we wanted,” she said. On the way home, they decided together: “We found the right place,” Jan said. ‘Cherry on top’ amenities While the Reinerts’ positive experience with Boulder Creek Neighborhoods led them to Sonders, they soon fell in love with the community and its amenities. “These are the cherry on top of a great house and builder,” she said. The only Pre-Certified Lifelong Community in the United States, Sonders is designed for active homeowners looking to pursue their passions long past retirement. Amenities include not only front-yard maintenance and snow removal but also the setting: Located near the shores of Richard’s Lake, the community offers prime fishing and birdwatching. Residents make daily use of the trail system, and planned parks include a sensory garden and Evernew Park, celebrating sustainability. The community pool, with an adjacent hot tub, will open this summer with accessible entry options, gradual depth transitions for water aerobics and lap swimming. “It will feel like we’re living at a resort,” Jan said with a laugh. She is similarly excited about the Sonders Learning Center. The approximately 2,300-square-foot facility, designed in collaboration with Colorado State University’s Institute for the Built Environment, encapsulates the institute’s principles of lifelong living and accessibility. Programming includes social events, workshops and classes. Happily for Jan and George, Sonders is just minutes from downtown Fort Collins and the university-town vibe they love. George is also excited about quick access to nearby golf courses, and luckily for him, Sonders is located just feet from the Fort Collins Country Club. Putting the ‘personal’ in personalization The Reinerts will close on their new home this fall. In the meantime, they’ve enjoyed personalizing their floor plan, the Sojourn. With the design center onsite at Sonders, “it’s been fun and easy,” Jan said. She showed one of the professional designers a photo of a home she liked, and “it was so cool, when she’d put something down, like a piece of tile that went with that design, we’d just know,” she continued. “It took my breath away.” George said, “We are designing a house that’s us.” Avid cooks, they opted for a kitchen with an extended island, gas stove and “counter space and space and space,” Jan said. She noticed the thought that went into even the placement of the kitchen sink: “You look through the house to the back windows, and because you spend a lot of time at the sink, that’s wonderful.” Floor plans crafted for modern living At Sonders, Boulder Creek Neighborhoods’ collections — The Courtyard Collection and the Patio Home Collection — reflect the way homeowners live today, with generous flex spaces. “The new collections are inspired by years of feedback from our homebuyers and realtors,” said Jessica Champlin, Boulder Creek Neighborhoods’ chief revenue officer. The Courtyard Collection is true to its name, featuring an open courtyard out front, thanks to the collection’s alley-load design. Private outdoor space in the back is ideal for dining, pets, or even a garden for those that are so inclined. A beloved element in the Courtyard Collection is the Carolina room, an cozy patio with an optional12-foot sliding door and fireplace. Featured on the Venture floorplan, it’s easy to see how this space can be used on warm and cool Colorado evenings alike. Courtyard homes may be built atop a crawl space, reaching about 1,800 square feet, or with an optional lower level, taking the square footage to about 2,800 square feet. On the main floor, floor plans include two bedrooms and a study. The Patio Home Collection presents single-family patio homes with finished lower levels, many on sought-after walkout homesites. Floor plans extend from about 2,600 to 2,800 square feet and include either an oversized two-car garage or a three-car garage. Front and back outdoor living areas provide seamless indoor-outdoor flow, and buyers can select one or two additional bedrooms on the finished lower level, maximizing flexibility for guests, hobbies or multigenerational living. “We are really excited about the space for guests,” Jan said. “They can have their own area, and we can take a walk together each day, or whatever we want to do, and have that time for connection.” Two model homes open now Join Boulder Creek Neighborhoods for Open Houses this Saturday, April 3 from 11am – 3pm. Tours of model homes and several quick move-in floorplans will be available. Patio Homes are finishing in the $800,000s, with Courtyards being offered in the mid $600,000s for floorplans on a crawl space. easyHouse®A New Home for a Cozy Holiday
Article by Sara Huber, At Home Colorado Lower-Maintenance, Quick Move-In Homes Are Available Now at Knolls in Westminster After years of dreaming of a ranch-style home with a garden walk-out, Jackie and Dave Choury have been eagerly watching lifestyle builder Boulder Creek Neighborhoods complete the final details on their new home. “I can’t wait to put up the Christmas tree,” Jackie said. “We picked our floor plan because it works so well for entertaining.” They plan to close on their new home at Knolls at Big Dry Creek in Westminster just in time for the holidays. Although the Chourys purchased their home as a dirt start, Boulder Creek is offering select quick-move-in homes available now for home buyers hoping to settle into a new space this season. ‘Investing wisely starts with the right builder’ The Chourys began their journey to Knolls about two years ago. “We live in the area and noticed the signs going up that said ‘ranch-style patio homes,’” Dave recalled. “Since we’d been looking for a ranch home for a while, that was very interesting to us.” He soon gathered feedback on the builder. Friends in the construction industry highly recommended Boulder Creek Neighborhoods. That has proved true for the Chourys. They receive regular check-ins on their build process and “have been very impressed,” Dave said. “This is going to be a very energy-efficient home.” Jackie and Dave have also appreciated the seamlessness of the buying process. As financial planners who own Primerica Financial Advisors, they are meticulous about investing wisely and appreciate an efficient experience when buying or selling. “From my perspective, and it’s rare for me to say, this whole process has exceeded my expectations,” Dave said. Jackie added, “Anybody who works hard and makes a living wants to make sure they are making a quality financial investment. We feel great with this builder. There is constant communication, and they keep us informed. It’s been a sheer pleasure to work with them.” Floor plans for life While ranch-style floor plans drew the Chourys to Knolls, they’ve since become enamored with “how well every detail has been thought through,” Jackie said. In their Series One home, the luxurious kitchen with a butler’s pantry provides ample room for stocking up on holiday treats, and they are excited to soon host family and friends from church and their business team. A priority for Jackie in their new home was a home office. Although their business is based in Northglenn, she is grateful to occasionally work from home. She said, “The new office is spacious, at the front of the home and has big windows. I can make it my own.” Her favorite spot, however, might be the deck. “I just want to live out there,” she said with a laugh. Like all Series One homes at Knolls, their homesite is adjacent to open space, and she loves the view. “Being near the mountains is what keeps us here,” Dave said. The ease of a Boulder Creek lifestyle The Chourys, in fact, are often in the mountains or on nearby trails. “We have our bikes ready for the trails around Knolls,” Jackie said. Big Dry Creek Trail connects to the community, with the opportunity to ride all the way to Standley Lake. Their good health factored into their decision to move. “The timing was right,” Dave said. A relative is buying their current home, and Jackie and Dave can settle into main-floor living without worrying about navigating steps should their health change. “Boulder Creek is building for the future,” Jackie said. Homes at Knolls are designed for ease of living, featuring raised outlets to reduce bending, wider hallways and doors for easier navigation, and no steps to everyday living spaces, including kitchens, laundry rooms, and primary bedroom suites. In addition, the Lifestyle Association manages many exterior maintenance chores on behalf of Knolls homebuyers, including lawn care and snow removal. A welcoming community Colorado natives, Jackie and Dave, adore the community. “There’s a welcoming feeling,” Jackie said. “We’ve already met many of our neighbors, and everyone has been so kind.” Drew Kell, community manager at Knolls, said the atmosphere at Knolls is typical of a Boulder Creek community. “I’ve worked at seven different communities over my 14-year career with Boulder Creek, and I’ve never seen communities develop as organically as Boulder Creek’s always do.” Already forming at Knolls are book clubs, walking groups and pickleball teams. Boulder Creek is also intentional about developing a connected environment. “The exterior architecture provides an atmosphere for the more private buyer,” Kell said. “I can’t tell you how often potential buyers have no idea they are walking through a paired home until the ‘aha’ moment occurs. ” Limited-time incentives and sites More than 80% of homes at Knolls have been sold. This is a highly sought-after area, Kell noted, thanks to the numerous restaurants, medical offices, and retail opportunities, as well as its low tax rate. The Chourys’ floor plan, the Equinox, is part of the Series One easyHouse floor plans at Knolls and measures about 3,000 square feet. While only a few Series One homes remain, all offer walk-outs and back into open space. Series Two homes range from 1,200 to 1,600 square feet and sit atop a crawl space or an optional lower level. Several homes with crawl spaces are available as quick move-ins, offering a professionally designed interior and a move-in date within weeks. Series One homes at Knolls are priced from the $900s to $1 Million-plus, and Series Two homes are available now in the $600s. For a limited time, select plans include a $20,000 financing incentive that can be applied to closing costs or used to buy down interest rates. Kell said, “The clock is ticking. Don’t miss out.” To learn more, visit LiveKnolls.com or contact the Boulder Creek concierge team at 303.309.0088 or hello@livebouldercreek.com.Dec 9, 2025
easyHouse®Right-Sized in Broomfield
Article by Sara Huber, At Home Colorado The latest Boulder Creek neighborhood, Dillon Pointe, is under construction, with homes available to walk through now. This much-awaited, main-floor living community in Broomfield encapsulates Boulder Creek Neighborhoods’ commitment to “lifefullness,” or the freedom to live fully in a home that sets your best intentions free. For Fred and Barb Miller, buying a home at Dillon Pointe is all about leaning into the life they want to live long into retirement. “We love the area and didn’t want to move,” said Barb, referring to their current home in Westminster. “So, when we found something close by that was the right size, we went for it.” The newest enclave by Boulder Creek Neighborhoods is tucked into the south side of the master-planned community of Dillon Pointe, providing easy access to regional trails and parks, as well as built-in camaraderie. “What we’ve seen time and time again in these neighborhoods of ranch-style patio homes for people in similar ages and phases of life, is that book clubs, happy hours, bunco nights just naturally arise,” Champlin said. “Plus, Dillon Pointe is conveniently located near Denver and Boulder, and shopping, restaurant and medical options are nearby.” For sports enthusiasts, the Broadlands Golf Course and the Broomfield Recreation Center are mere minutes from the homes. Broomfield is also a gateway to the mountains, with hiking, cycling and snow sports options on tap throughout the year. ‘Right-sized,’ main-floor living The Millers have happily resided in their Westminster neighborhood for 38 years, moving into their current home 30 years ago when oak interiors were trending across America. Yet, today, said Fred, “Our house is larger than what we need. The kids are grown, and it’s just us with this space.” The only tricky part for Fred and Barb was that they wished to downsize “just the right amount.” They toured paired patio homes, joking that they’d both need one of the pair to bring all the things they wanted from their current home. Thus, when Dillon Pointe was announced within a few blocks of the area the Millers adore, they were hooked. “It’s exactly what we wanted for the size,” said Barb. “There’s plenty of room, but we’ll still be able to downsize – good for the kids so that they won’t have to go through the extra stuff we’ve accumulated.” The Millers are under contract for an Evans floor plan at Dillon Pointe and hope to be settled by spring. The neighborhood will feature 21 ranch-style homes at build out–“a size where we’ll be able to get to know everyone,” Barb said. All floor plans at Dillon Pointe emphasize the ease of main-floor living in the details: There are zero steps between everyday living spaces, and elbow room is built in to accommodate daily life. Doors and hallways are extra wide, the kitchen and bathrooms provide abundant clearance and electrical outlets are raised for simplicity of movement. Floor plans for flexibility At 2,900 to 3,300 square feet–in addition to two- to three-car garages and a finished lower level–floor plans at Dillon Pointe are designed to flex toward a home buyer’s lifestyle and passions. “Three bedrooms or four or five? You decide what suits how you live,” Champlin said. As for the finished lower level, “it’s rare to find a ranch-style home that gives you that space. There’s so much you can do with it, from a wet bar and entertainment space to a rec room for the grandkids,” she added. “We have homeowners that dedicate the downstairs to guests, and others that create craft spaces and game rooms; it’s really a personal choice.” It’s about using a space that can be personalized at Boulder Creek, and the space itself can be personalized as well. Home buyers at Dillon Pointe are invited to work with Boulder Creek’s interior design team to select finishes and flooring–everything from lighting fixtures to cabinets to literally the kitchen sink. “Our homeowners love the opportunity to personalize and create a home they’re excited about,” Champlin said. As for the Millers, they might be most excited about their new home’s outdoor spaces. “We love that this plan has a covered patio and a front porch,” said Barb, who anticipates enjoying the Colorado outdoors from her own yard. Indoors, they opted for the entertainer’s kitchen, which includes a generous island, double oven, large pantry, and Thermador appliances. The appliances delighted Fred and Barb, who, as retired owners of a business representing plumbing manufacturers, know their way around premium appliances. “When you’ve been in the building business for 30 years, you know what quality is, and you recognize when builders build with quality,” Fred said. “The efficiency of the home is amazing, which should help with the cost of utilities.” The quality of a new build means fewer worries, too, said Fred. “When a home like ours is 30 years old, things start happening: a sprinkler system leak this week, something else next week. Things constantly go wrong.” Barb agreed with a laugh: “It’s a money pit.” Their new home is built with the latest in energy codes and construction techniques, and is covered by a new home warranty. “This is a small enclave of just twenty-one homes,” says Boulder Creek Community Sales Manager Rebecca Lucero. Just a few months after opening, five of those homes have already been claimed. “We get phone calls every day looking for a model to be complete, and I tell folks these might be gone before then,” Lucero says with a laugh. Two floor plans are available currently for appointment-only construction tours. Ranch-style patio homes at Dillon Pointe by Boulder Creek Neighborhoods will start in the $900s and are expected to finish around $1.2 millon. easyHouse®Main Floor Living for Ultimate Convenience
Article by Sara Huber, At Home Colorado Early access to priority list ends soon for new lower-maintenance community in Broomfield For nearly 18 months, Michele and Chuck of Westminster have been on the hunt for a lower-maintenance home offering main-floor living in Northern Colorado. Time and again, “we’ve come back to homes by Boulder Creek,” she said. “For us, it is all about the main-floor living.” Michele and Chuck are on the priority list for a home at Dillon Pointe, one of the newest neighborhoods by Boulder Creek Neighborhoods, the Louisville-based lifestyle builder. Located in Broomfield, just a few miles from Michele and Chuck’s current two-story home in Westminster, the Boulder Creek enclave at Dillon Pointe will be tucked into the south side of the master-planned community of Dillon Pointe. “We are bringing 21 ranch-style homes to Dillon Pointe that feature main-floor living at a time and place where we know there are not enough options for empty nesters or people who want to move from the big house to a new space that really meets their needs,” explained Jessica Champlin, Boulder Creek Neighborhoods’ chief revenue officer. Main-floor living for the long run Michele and Chuck’s desire for main-floor living is grounded in experience. After watching their parents struggle to maneuver wheelchairs and walkers through homes with tight doorways and endless stairs, Michele and Chuck vowed “to move before we needed to,” she said. “We are thankful we have the luxury of being in a position where we can take as much time as we need,” said Michele, who retired from work in higher education and broadcast television production in 2018. Since then, she has kept busy serving at the Westminster recreation center and library, and she and Chuck look forward to traveling more after he retires from a career in electrical engineering. “It is our goal to take care of the housing thing before Chuck retires so that all of the big changes are not coming at once,” Michele said. “We want this to be our last move — to a home with main-floor living that can meet our needs for a long time.” That desire for a landing place that meets their needs is why a home by Boulder Creek Neighborhoods rose to the top of Michele and Chuck’s wish list. All floor plans at Dillon Pointe emphasize the ease of main-floor living in the details: There are zero steps between everyday living spaces, including the primary suite, laundry, and patio, and elbow room is built-in to accommodate daily life. Doors and hallways are extra wide, the kitchen and bathrooms provide abundant clearance, and electrical outlets are raised for simplicity of movement. In the course of their home search, Michele and Chuck have asked more than one home builder, besides Boulder Creek Neighborhoods, if they could modify a floor plan to include wider doorways to accommodate a wheelchair or walker. “Some straight up said no, others said they can do a few of the doorways,” noted Michele. “We have seen and lived this. We don’t want to settle.” Michele and Chuck joined the priority list to ensure they’re among the first homebuyers in line for their future dream home at Dillon Point. “The priority list is a step beyond the standard interest list,” said Champlin. “It gives folks the opportunity to hold their space in line as they are sorting out their individual situations, whether that’s listing their home, waiting for a specific homesite to be released, or just testing the waters.” By joining early, Michele and Chuck have positioned themselves to secure one of the first picks of home sites and floor plans when the time comes. Floor plans for flexibility At 2,900 to 3,300 square feet — in addition to two- to three-car garages and a finished lower level — floor plans at Dillon Pointe are designed to flex toward a home buyer’s lifestyle and passions. “Should you make the downstairs a space for guests or grandkids, upstairs, you’re king of the castle.” At Dillon Pointe, the Antero floor plan with an optional finished lower level has been especially popular with potential home buyers. Since Chuck “likes to tinker,” said Michele, they hope to devote one of the many flex spaces to his hobbies. As for Michele, who enjoys cooking and entertaining, “I am really happy with the size of the island in the kitchen and all of the storage.” Home buyers at Dillon Pointe will be invited to work with Boulder Creek’s partners to select their interior finishes and flooring. “Our homeowners love the opportunity to personalize and create a home they’re excited about,” Champlin said. That is, after all, the Boulder Creek mantra, or what the builder calls “lifefullness,” the potential to pursue what you love in a home that empowers your lifestyle. That is also why Boulder Creek offers several exterior packages at Dillon Pointe, including a mountain chalet style, modern style or farmhouse exterior. Outdoors, Dillon Pointe homes will feature a front courtyard, deck or patio and a blank-slate backyard. “Our homeowners love the welcoming nature of the front as well as the ability to fence the backyard space for privacy,” Champlin said. A sales opening at Dillon Pointe is expected in June, but the priority list is now being formed. Like Michele and Chuck, interested parties have the opportunity to join the priority list with a fully refundable deposit that can be applied to a future home purchase. “The priority list is a very popular path, especially in a community with limited home sites,” said Champlin. Ranch-style patio homes at Dillon Pointe by Boulder Creek Neighborhoods will start in the $900s. Interested buyers are encouraged to join the Priority List prior to May 29, ahead of the official sales launch in early June. easyHouse®Move into Knolls at Big Dry Creek this Summer
Article by Sara Huber, At Home Colorado Lower-maintenance living plus outdoor amenities for summertime fun After listing their Broomfield family home on the market a few years ago, Kim and Joe Ross encountered roadblock after roadblock as they searched for a new home that would meet their life and budget needs. Eventually, “we figured we’d stay in our house a little longer,” Joe said. Just about then, not only did they come across the home of their retirement dreams, but they soon received an unexpected call from a broker with a buyer interested in their house. “It was meant to be,” said Kim. Last fall, Kim and Joe moved into their new home at Knolls at Bifg Dry Creek, a lower-maintenance enclave of 122 ranch-style paired patio homes in Westminster by the lifestyle builder Boulder Creek Neighborhoods. “We wanted an area where we would be safe, and we didn’t want to rake leaves or shovel snow anymore,” Joe recalled. Their new Vista floor plan, part of the Series Two “easyHouse” designs at Knolls, checked all the Rosses’ boxes and then some. Community amenities for vibrant outdoor living In fact, while Kim and Joe say they have a lot to love inside their new home, several of their favorite features are the outdoor community amenities. An active Colorado native, Joe aims to log 10,000 steps a day on the many paths around the neighborhood, and together, Joe and Kim have taken up pickleball on the Knolls double court. “It’s a great place to meet people,” Joe said. From the pickleball court to the bocce ball court and the tree-shaded picnic tables and benches, Joe said, “There are so many opportunities to meet and talk with people.” It helps, said Kim, that a good number of Knolls homeowners are in a similar stage of life “and are all very friendly.” She anticipates happy hours, barbecues around the outdoor community grills and, of course, many pickleball matches this summer. Intuitive floor plans for main-floor living The Rosses have always treasured human connection. Dedicated church members, they look forward to hosting church friends in their new home, and they love inviting family over for a meal. “That’s one of the reasons we wanted a very open home with a beautiful kitchen,” said Kim. A large island in the kitchen was a must for the Rosses, as was the open-concept layout with “lots of windows and plenty of bright light,” she continued. “And we wanted main-floor living because we want this to be our last move for a long time.” As for their floor plan, “We went with the Vista for a very practical reason: the 8 by 8 extra space in the garage,” said Joe. His motorcycle fits perfectly into the garage nook, alongside his carefully organized tools from a lifetime of building and managing properties. They also opted for a finished basement. A musician, Joe customized a recording studio on the lower level, and they turned a guest bedroom into a home gym. On the main level, Kim prioritized a front patio and back deck for the potted plants she anticipates tending this summer. “It won’t be the same as the big yard we used to have, but that was the point. We did not want to have all that work,” she said. In their old home, “we would rake for weeks,” Joe said, “and shoveling snow was hard on my back in the winter.” Exceptional service and build quality Although the Rosses purchased their new home “sight unseen,” with the model home still under construction at the time, community sales manager Drew Kell “helped us envision what the house would be like,” Joe noted. “Drew went out of his way to find us videos of homes very similar to ours (by Boulder Creek Neighborhoods).” From the start, Kim and Joe were impressed by Boulder Creek’s customer service. On the first afternoon they visited, community sales manager Micah Davidson was serving his final day at Knolls at Big Dry Creek (before taking up a post at another Boulder Creek community). Nonetheless, said Joe, “Micah took time to walk us through everything and to answer every question.” It also helped that Joe had heard more than once about Boulder Creek Neighborhoods’ reputation for excellence. “I had asked around at my water aerobics class about builders. Everyone said good things about Boulder Creek, their quality and what good homes they built.” He laughed, “I’m a perfectionist, so that was important to me.” Boulder Creek’s transparent communication during the building process was important to Kim and Joe, too. The Rosses were provided regular updates on the status and construction of their new home, all the way up until the final walk-throughs and closing. “We couldn’t be happier,” Joe said. “The buying process was smooth, and we like the area.” He and Kim can easily access the variety of health establishments nearby, as well as restaurants, grocery stores and other shopping opportunities. Flexible floor plans Knolls at Big Dry Creek offers two series of patio homes; the larger Series One homes are 2800 to 3300 finished square feet, while the Series Two homes are available on a crawl space or a finished lower level. “There really is a ‘right-sized’ home for all different types of lifestyles here,” said Jessica Champlin, chief revenue officer at Boulder Creek Neighborhoods. Series Two plans measure 1,200 to 1,600 square feet and feature main-floor living, either atop a crawl space or the optional lower level. More than 60 percent of Boulder Creek’s homes at Knolls have been sold, just one year since the neighborhood debuted. For Series Two crawl space homes, Boulder Creek is currently offering a $20,000 financing incentive that may be applied to closing costs or buying down interest rates. Homes at Knolls at Big Dry Creek are selling quickly, with Series Two floor plans ranging from the low $500s through the low $600s, in the $700s for homes with a finished lower level. The larger Series One floor plans are available for $900,000 and up. To learn more, visit LiveKnolls.com or contact the Boulder Creek Concierge Team at 303.309.0088.Apr 29, 2025
Limited EditionBoulder Creek Neighborhoods at Baseline in Broomfield
Article by Sara Huber, At Home Colorado Limited Edition homes for relaxed entertaining After 18 years in a family home in Broomfield, educators Tammy and Dave Lawrence are relocating just a couple miles down the road to a home that meets their current stage of life in the new community of Baseline. “It has the open-concept space we wanted to entertain, and we love the indoor-outdoor way of living at Baseline,” Tammy said. For the Lawrences, who raised four children in their former home of 5,000-plus square feet, “it was time to downsize to less maintenance,” explained Dave, who will retire at the end of this school year. Yet moving from their sprawling family home, with all its yardwork and maintenance obligations, did not mean that the Lawrences wanted to forfeit their capacity to host. In fact, Dave and Tammy welcome 20 to 30 relatives to their home each Thanksgiving and Christmas, and once or twice a week, year-round, they open their doors to family gatherings that include grown children, nieces, nephews, cousins and Dave’s mom. “We love to be together,” he said. Thus, once Tammy and Dave decided to find their next abode within the “urban-meets-nature” neighborhood of Baseline, they immediately gravitated toward Boulder Creek Neighborhoods’ Limited Edition home collection. Designed exclusively for Baseline, “these homes were created with hospitality and livability in mind,” said Nathan Garner, Community Sales Manager at Boulder Creek Neighborhoods. Limited Edition designs “flow seamlessly from the streetscape, reflect the priorities of the Baseline community and are grand and gracious from every angle,” he said. Space and style for gracious hos ting Each Limited Edition home at Baseline features three to five bedrooms across three stories of living space, ranging from about 3,000 square feet to 3,500 square feet. Tammy prized the cutting-edge, intuitive feel of the collection “from first sight.” Specifically, the series’ Iconic model won over the Lawrences, thanks to its exterior fireplace evoking “all sorts of family gatherings on the front patio” and the potential to “spill across the street to the pocket park or inside to the rec room,” she said. Added Garner, “The Iconic brings its own energy and is unbelievably light and spacious.” From the Iconic’s stunning two-story entrance, with the outdoor fireplace adored by the Lawrences, to the recreation room for relaxed game nights and a dedicated entertainer’s kitchen, “the Iconic felt made for us,” Tammy said. The Iconic, like all the Limited Edition homes at Baseline, features a modern roofline, multiple patio options and windows measuring nearly floor-to-ceiling. The Lawrences aimed for a “cozy and modern” vibe, said Tammy, who selected all-black doors and trim throughout the home, as well as additional fireplaces in the primary suite and great room. “It reminds me of a downtown loft,” she said. With a plethora of personalization options, Tammy and Dave opted for a wet bar and recreation room on the ground floor, though a fifth bedroom on that level is an option for those with evolving family needs. “I can imagine Fourth of July in the summertime, starting on the front porch, but we’ll also have the game tables and TV in the rec room,” Tammy noted. On the main level, the Lawrences envision using their flex room as a reading nook and comfortable study. “I love how much we can do with the home,” she said. They are planning to turn one of the bedrooms into a space for their first grandchild. It comes as no surprise that the Lawrences thought carefully about the kitchen in their new home. The Iconic’s entertainer’s kitchen is a chef’s paradise and includes a butler’s pantry, baking station, two dishwashers, a minibar and a built-in fridge, with Thermador, KitchenAid or JennAir appliance options. Cabinetry by Primary Kitchen, brass fixtures and the Lawrences’ optional full backsplash in tile designed to look like brick complete the wow factor. A community to explore As for the community, “We’re at a whole new level of exploration,” said Dave, referring to his upcoming retirement. We chose this community because of all the opportunity to walk to shops and restaurants and to be a part of a community that feels like a community.” Tammy continued, “We also liked the location near I-25 and E-470. We have easy access to the airport, as well as Boulder.” Baseline, developed by the McWhinney real estate investment company, will link city and wildlife with more than 9,000 residencies, dozens of pocket parks, a comprehensive trail system, more than 170 acres of open land, a K-12 school and a dining and shopping district anchored by a pedestrian plaza. Parklands, Baseline’s 62-acre linear park now under development, will connect the community through a trail system and natural and sport fields.
