Boulder Creek Neighborhoods Supports Brent’s Place
The first sentence the in Boulder Creek’s company Value Statement is “we respect lives fully lived.” This core company value is why we were immediately drawn to Brent’s Place – an organization dedicated to providing clean, safe housing to families battling childhood cancer. We believe that the right housing can improve quality of life, so what better way to support families during a time of significant need than to help provide a healthy environment for recovering patients? When we were first introduced to Brent’s Place , we knew we had to contribute and since then, we have loved every minute of participating in this organization. While we are proud to contribute monetarily to this amazing organization, we are even prouder to have the ability to interact with these families personally to help improve their daily lives. In addition to donating one day of “safe-clean living”- about $93- to Brent’s Place every time a homeowner closes on one of our homes, we also make a point of partaking in events put on by Brent’s Place. One of our favorites is “Family Nights” where we get to show off our culinary skills and cook homemade meals for the families. These nights have become so popular, there is a wait list for who gets to cook for the families next. Each “Family Night” is memorable and impactful, particularly for our team. We have really rallied around contributing to this organization and enjoy getting to know these incredible families on a personal level. In addition to “Family Nights,” we sponsor every employee to run in Brent’s Place Kids Cure for Cancer 5K each year. Some of us run and many of us attend to cheer on the runners and show support. This is a fun event that we all look forward to and is an ideal event for our active adult neighborhoods to get involved in as well. During the holidays we participate in the annual toy drive and this year we plan to sponsor individual families throughout the holiday season. There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing smiling faces and witnessing these families in an environment where they get to just be families- not patients. “That there is a place for families to go and simply be families during some of the most trying times in their lives is tremendous in itself, but then to see the entire Brent’s Place team rally around the families and cheer on the kids in treatment”¦that’s what is really special,” says Boulder Creek President David Sinkey. Brent’s Place is not only an incredible environment for families, but it is a fantastic facility that truly aids in patient’s recovery. Brent’s Place is the only Children’s Hospital Colorado approved “Safe-Clean” housing facility for immune compromised patients and their families. Committed to keeping their patients safe, Brent’s Place provides a healing environment that assists in patients’ recovery. Virtually free from dander, dust, mold and other infectious agents, Brent’s Place bridges the gap from the hospital to going home so that kids can build strength. Conveniently located near the Anschutz Medical Campus, the organization has everything necessary for these families to improve their child’s health. There are several ways for you to get involved with Brent’s Place, including sponsoring a family, donating and attending events.
